Barnes beginning in the 1910s. The collection includes 181 Renoirs, 69 Cézannes, 59 Matisses, and 46 Picassos — along with decorative ironwork, African sculpture, and American crafts — displayed in Barnes's distinctive "ensemble" method, with works hung floor to ceiling in combination with objects.
